Google XML Sitemaps : An Essential WordPress Plugin

When there is a mention of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for WordPress, there’s one plugin you simply can’t ignore; Google XML Sitemaps. It is an essential plugin I think all WordPress users must have. It is simple, reliable, updated, powerful, and best of all, works automatically. To make sure that search engines find and index all your pages, you need to submit to them a sitemap of your blog. Google XML Sitemaps creates an XML sitemap for your blog, which is compatible with all the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.
A sitemap is a list of all accessible pages on your blog / website. Some websites have a separate page labelled as a ‘sitemap’. That page lists all the pages on the website, usually organized in some sort of hierarchy. An XML sitemap is similar. It lists all the pages on your website, but usually there does not need to be an organizational hierarchy.  It is the search engine’s job to deal with all that stuff.
So why do search engines need your sitemap? Well, you obviously want your pages to show up on Google don’t you? Let’s say you searched for “Google XML Sitemaps” on Google, and came up with this very page you are reading. You were able to access it because Google was able to index it. Had it not been indexed, this page won’t have gotten any views, and would have remained in the shadows.

Features of Google XML Sitemaps

  • Supports all kinds of WordPress generated pages. Additionally, it supports custom URLs as well. So you won’t have to worry about compatibility.
  • Automatically adds any new pages that you create. You won’t have to manually add new pages or create new updated sitemaps.
  • Notifies search engines like Google,Yahoo, Bing etc. of any changes via pinging them. That way, whenever you create a new page, it will automatically indexed by search engines.
  • Prioritizes your webpages based on the total number of comments. The more comments there are on a post, the higher its priority. Higher priority pages are submitted to search engines first.
  • User can customize parameters like priority etc. You can exclude any page from being indexed.
  • Creates an XML file and a zip folder, hence giving you ease of use. You can modify that XML file however you want, and submit manually to any smaller search engines not supported by this plugin.
  • Has a WordPress filter that lets other plugins add their own pages to your sitemap.
To get started, download Google XML Sitemaps from WordPress website.
Go to XML-Sitemaps under your settings tab in you admin panel. There, you can change whatever you like, after which you can easily create a sitemap.
If you found this post useful, then do let us know in the comments section below. Good luck with your SEO :)

Simplicity is the Best

The aim of a Business card is to share your basic information with your potential client. Always include your name, your professional designation, Company name, a brief introduction of the services you provide and your reliable contact information.

Promote your Logo!

Your unique logo or icon works as an identity of your product, don’t forget to include an effective icon that represents your site/ blog/product or services. However, be wise enough to choose those graphics that give an attractive look to your business card with best printable results.

A successful business is all about utilizing all possible chances to promote your business. People often leave the back side of their cards blank. Poor fellows, if you can promote more stuff in same size, why not to avail it? You can always add some information, an appealing line at the back of your card.

Quick Response Codes

Quick Response (normally referred as QR) codes have lately created an easy and trendy way to add informational strength to your business card without sacrificing a simple format. QR are a fundamental part of marketing and advertising strategies. QR codes are two dimensional bar code-like designs. Another way to promote your existence is including a URL link to your business.

Promote yourself !

Personalizing a card and then getting it printed is all useless I you don’t know how to avail its advantage. Always keep few cards all the time with you, no matter where ever you go. Try to talk about your business with every person you meet in some way and hand over your card. Distribute your card among all the friends and ask them to forward some to their friends too. You see this way you can actually interact and pull a great traffic to your e-business.
these were some tips that will really help you increasing your and your product’s market Value, generating a huge traffic for you. being professional and making yourself known as a professional in the market is all what you need to increase your credibility in the Market. it becomes embarrassing when people ask you about your business card and you wither don’t have one or if you have it, there is nothing worthy of sharing in it.

How To Auto Publish Your Blog Feeds To Facebook?

In any given online campaign, automation is very important, especially automation on social media. Companies and individuals having their businesses, be it a simple revenue earning blog, or a large web hosting or product selling corporation, need social media interaction. It is estimated that around 75% of the consumers use social media to learn about products or services. Which is why most businesses have social media pages. Now, whenever these businesses update content on their blogs or websites, they also need to notify their social media followers about the latest updates. To do this, you would ordinarily have to share links to your new content on a social network, say Facebook. This is where automation comes in.
Wouldn’t it be great if all your updates are published on Facebook automatically? Automation can make life a lot easier. Not only will it ensure that none of your updates are left out, it will also save you time and effort. Additionally, it will keep the traffic flowing to your blog. How to automate your posts? You can do that using a free app for Facebook called RSS Graffiti.

What is RSS Graffiti?

It will only work if RSS feeds have been configured for your blog. It works for Fan Pages as well as Profiles, and you can set up multiple feeds (from multiple blogs) to be published on one or more pages. Considering that this is a fee app, it’s a must have for bloggers who use Facebook frequently.

How To Set Up RSS Graffiti for profiles?

Once there, you will go through three more steps. First, RSS Graffiti will ask you for access to your profile. Then, it will ask for constant authentication for future reference. Then, you will need to allow it to publish on your profile.
Next is simple pointing to your blog or blogs which you want to add. Simply click on Add Feed and provide your blog URL, blog name, and feed URL. Once again, you will need to set up RSS feeds for your blog.
If you don’t know how to set up RSS feeds, don’t worry. Use a popular RSS feeder such as FeedBurner. CLick on the link and sign in with your Google Account. You will be guided through the rest.

How To Set Up RSS Graffiti for Fan pages?

This is quite similar to setting up RSS Graffiti for profiles. But first, you have to visit this page and select your fan pages from the left sidebar. If there is no such option, then you will first have to grant permissions to RSS Graffiti as we discussed earlier. You can select multiple fan pages as well.

  • Allows publishing on multiple pages
  •  Scheduling time and frequency of posts
  • Can be linked to Twitter to tweet automatically about your posts (click here)

Top 10 Joomla! - SEO Tips and Tricks

SEO may sound complicated and expensive, but there are a number of things you can do to improve your search engine ranking that won’t have you spending a dime or tearing your hair out. Here is a list of the 10 simplest SEO tips and tricks for Joomla sites.

Now here are 10 easy, cheap ways to improve your SEO.

1) Don't install any sample data when you set up a Joomla! site.

When you launch your Joomla! Site, it’s very easy to forget to delete all the demo articles that come with it. That will give you pages, links and news feeds that are irrelevant to your topic. Delete your sample data and don't forget to empty your trash as well!

2) Your Site Name should be your site’s name.

There can be a temptation to cram as many keywords as possible into the "Site Name" field. It doesn't help and when users register at your site, they get an email saying "Welcome to Widgets, Buy Widgets, Cheap Widgets, Bargain Widgets!" You don't want that.

3) Turn off your PDF links.

When we analyze Joomla! Sites, we often find PDFs ranking higher than the original pages. Because PDF pages have no menu links, they're a dead-end. Users can't move from the PDF to the rest of your site. So turn off those links.

4) Don't waste your site's link juice with lots of social bookmarking links.

Lets face it, very few pages have a chance to hit the Digg home page or do well on Reddit, so only place those buttons on your best articles. Your visitors appreciate clean, uncluttered pages -- and so do search engines.

5) Redirect the www and non-www versions of your site to the same place.

All you need to do is add this little piece of code to your .htaccess file. Note: Replace MyDomain with your domain name and .com with your domain extension.
 # Can be commented out if causes errors.
    Options FollowSymLinks

 # mod_rewrite in use

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^$ [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$$1 [R=301,L]

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^.* [NC]
    RewriteRule (.*)$1 [R=301,L]
6) Turn on your cache.

Search in Google and you'll see a size for each site. Smaller, faster sites are more popular with visitors and with Google. One easy way to make your site act small and load faster is to turn on your cache in Global Configuration.

7) Enter a full description for all your sections and categories.

These pages are great for organizing your site... and for improving Page Rank. If you organize your sections and categories carefully, your site becomes very easy for both people and search-engine spiders to navigate.

8) Less is often more

Having thousands of Joomla! pages indexed in Google isn't always a good thing, especially if those pages don't bring value. Some components, for example, can produce lots of extra pages that are completely worthless. One easy way to check if your site is putting garbage on Google is to search for If you find pages that don't have good content, you might want to remove them.

9) Empty your global configuration metadata.

I'm sure you're all big fans of Joomla!, but I'm equally sure that "Joomla! - the dynamic portal engine and content management system" doesn't describe your site. Take it out.

10) Be confident.

Joomla! is fantastic software that allows you to easily create lots of high quality pages that are great for your SEO. If you keep a close eye on your site and take the time to learn how Joomla! works, there's no reason why you shouldn't have top-flight search engine rankings!

Many Security Holes in the Microsoft Frontpage extensions

In recent days we noticed that many people suffering for hacking activities with their site, and they migrate on CentrioHost only to prevent their site from being hacked. We already post some article for them how to prevent site hacking. We just recently noticed that web-hosts offering FrontPage Extensions on their site also get hacked now-a-days :( Here we explain about this issues....
First of all, Frontpage is brain damaged (just have to set the stage).

Ok, Frontpage works like this when you want to publish files:

It tries to GET "".  This file contains the version of the FP extensions and the path on the server where the extensions are located. When you use Frontpage to upload content, it will try and fetch this file, if it can, it then tries to POST to :
"" (that's the default).

This server binary is not password protected, so it is able to post a query to it.  The first thing it does is just establish a protocol rev in which the client and server are going to talk, and what functions the server provides.

If you have any people using Frontpage, it's likely that they FTPed the _vti_inf.html from their home machine up to your site.  Then they tried to publish, and it tried HTTP first.  If HTTP fails, it just kicks over to FTP as the publishing protocol (and notifies the user that they can't use WebBots and stuff).

Incidentally, I have a passion to hate the FP extensions.  They are fundamentally stupid in nearly all respects of implementation.

Firsly, they maintain a crapload of meta files (one shadow for every file managed) then they have all of their config info in a bunch of text files in the _vti_pvt directory.  (Oh, BTW, there exists a very HUGE privacy hole in the FP extenstions).  If you go to a site that has FP extensions, just pick any directory in the URL, yank the filename off, and put "_vti_cnf" there'll get a complete listing of all the files in the real directory.  With this you can snatch files that weren't meant to be seen by the public...and it's available on ALL FP enabled sites.

Hmm, I've contributed a "privacy bug" now. :)

Want to know an even cooler hack?  Want to break into Frontpage enabled sites?

Just snarf the "administrators.pwd" and "authors.pwd" file in:

That'll net you the password file for the web.  Just convert it properly and run Crack on it to obtain a useful password for defacing web sites!

Want even more???

Frontpage 98 fucks up the permissions so bad that it makes the _vti_pvt directory WORLD WRITABLE!!! No shit, you can do whatever you want to stuff in that directory.

Hmm, I love incompetent nitwits that think they can buy someone elses crappy Unix shit and sell it as their own!!! :)

Oh, you know why all the directories begin with "VTI"???

"Vermeer Technology Inc". The people the M$ bought for Frontpage. :)

Never Use FrontPage Extensions, your site can be easily hacked then !! We dont offer this Extensions, however if you migrate your site from other server, these files will be come to your new site from other host. Also if you upload with FrontPage software, its also makes these directory on your public_html folder and hackers can easily hack your site - Security Dept,

10 tips - How to promote your website

Once you have created your website content, you have to attract your audience to it. Use these ideas to promote your site to the internet search engines and encourage external links.
1. Submit your site to search engines. The Open Directory project lists your web pages on the major search engines for free. See:

2. Write a descriptive title for each page. Use just five to eight words. Ensure that this is marked as 'title' in the html code. This page title will appear hyperlinked on the search engines when your page is found.

3. Make sure you have keywords in your content. They should mirror what users would type to find your pages (most search services index each word in an html file. Use short, accurate descriptions to identify ALT attributes within IMG (image) tags.

4. Metatags. These are embedded in a website’s html code but do not appear when viewing the site. They help search engines to index your site content. Use them.

5. Ask for reciprocal links. You can gain visibility on search engines as well as attracting more visitors by having other sites link to yours. For example, you can publish links to your consortium partners' websites and ask them to return the favour.

6. Submit your links to directories. Search for the major research actors in your field such as well-reputed web portals, and have your website added to their link section or directory.

7. Issue news releases and submit to press wires. Send news releases about your events and achievements to print and web periodicals. This may attract journalists to look at your project and publicist it.

8. Offer content for others to use in their newsletters and sites. You can increase your visibility when you write articles in your area of expertise and supply them to editors for their newsletters. Just ask that they include a link to your website and a one-line description of what you offer.

9. Send out email newsletters. Though it takes a lot of time, consider publishing a monthly e-mail newsletter. This is a good way to bring users to your website. But remember - it is important not to spam, so do not send e-mails without permission to people who do not want them.

10. Promote your website everywhere. At conferences, in web forums and in your email signature. Include your web address on business cards and promotional materials. Ensure that all reprints of cards, stationery and marketing materials contain your web address.

How to switch hosts without having any down time?

Switching to a new host can be a complicated process. Follow our steps to ensure that your move is smooth and painless.
  1. The first step is to join your new host. Make sure to NOT cancel with your old hosting provider, and do not tell them you will be canceling. Keep this a secret from your old host, or they could prematurely terminate your site and cause downtime.
  2. At this point, you should have hosting accounts with two hosting providers (the old and the new one). You will now migrate your entire site from the old host to the new one. This can be done by connecting to the old host's FTP and downloading all your files, and then by connecting to the new host's FTP and uploading all your files (maintain the same file and folder structure). If you choose to make CentrioHost your new host, we may transfer your entire site over free of charge!
  3. You must also backup any databases on the old host (contact the old host for instructions) and upload the backup files to the new host via FTP. You must then restore your databases from those backup files; this can be done via SSH or cPanel's phpMyAdmin. Emails do not normally transfer, but you can archive your emails from the old host. You can accomplish this by making a POP3 connection to each email address; this way all the old emails are downloaded to your local computer. The new host will not have those old emails, but the new host will be able to get new emails.
  4. If you choose to make CentrioHost your new host, we may transfer your entire site (files and databases) over free of charge! If your old host used cPanel, we may be able to transfer emails as well.
  5. After you have a copy of your site on both hosting accounts, it is time to change your domain name's DNS....
  6. After you have all your files on both hosting accounts, it is time to change your domain name's DNS. Your new host will provide you with the correct name servers (DNS). You may need to contact the new host to find out what DNS settings you will use for your domain name.
DNS name servers usually looks like this (replace "" with your host's actual domain name):
Once you have the correct DNS, go to the company where you purchased your domain name to make the change. If you purchased your domain name from your host, you usually need to ask them to make the DNS changes for you. You can tell them something similar to, "Hello. My domain with you is _____.___ ; please, change my domain name's name servers to ns1._______.____ and ns2._______.____ ."
If you bought your domain name from CentrioHost, we are more than happy to help you or even make the DNS changes for you.
  7. Once your DNS changes have been made, you will need to wait 48 hours (two days) before your site will load from the new host. During this 48 hour period, your DNS is propagating world wide and your site will be randomly loading from either the old host or the new host. Once the two days is complete, your site will only be loading from the new host.
  8. After the 48 hours have passed, your updated DNS will be fully functional. You will now contact your old host and cancel your hosting account with them. If you originally bought your domain name from the old host, do not cancel your domain registration.
If you completed all the above steps, you have successfully switched hosts with no downtime at all!

10 Tips - How to build a good website

If you want to promote your organisation or your project, you have to be on the web. Nowadays, it is the first resource that people turn to for information. These 10 useful tips can help you communicate what you want to say.

1. Define your audience. Fundamental, but many people forget it! What audience do you want to reach? Fellow scientists? Consortium partners? Potential investors? Journalists? Institutional bodies? The target audience determines what content you present.

2. Think about your content. Most of your visitors won't know the subject as well as you do, and have little time to spend reading! So keep it simple and short. Avoid jargon, be concise, focus on the successes and attract your audience by announcing exploitable developments or technologies and their potential benefits.

3. Plan a clear structure. This step is vital. The site should be easy to navigate. Produce a sitemap of your proposed web content. Visitors should ideally find information in 2-3 clicks maximum.

4. Make it look good. It sounds so basic, yet it matters! If it looks nice, people tend to give it more value. A good design reflects well on your organisation or project.

5. Limit graphic content. Multimedia can make your content more attractive, but don't overdo it. Use graphics only if they support your message - white space has proven to be important in communications. Too large images also slow page loading for people with poor connections.

6. Offer easily searchable content. Have a 'search engine' box on the front page. A number of tools can be found on the web to help you do this, including Google.

7. Update your content regularly. Sites with regularly changing content attract more visitors. Archive what’s out-of-date, update with new content, ensure that you don’t have broken links and add new functions.

8. Be media-friendly. Be ready to feed content to the media by preparing press releases, brochures, CVs of relevant contact people, info about key partners and addresses to be contacted. Put them in a 'Press' section on your site, and don't forget images also.

9. Make it interactive. Allow visitors to interact with the content author or producer. Host a discussion forum or start a blog – it may encourage visitors to drop in more often.

10. Domain name is important! Last but not least, today we remember website names as we used to remember phone numbers. So make sure that your domain name is easy to remember.

Improve WordPress Performance - Part (1)

WordPress caching is the fastest way to improve performance. If your site is getting hit right now install W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache.

Caching Plugins

Plugins like W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache can be easily installed and will cache your WordPress posts and pages as static files. These static files are then served to users, reducing the processing load on the server. This can improve performance several hundred times over for fairly static pages.
If your posts/pages have a lot of dynamic content configuring caching can be more complex. Search for "WordPress cache plugin" for more info.

Browser Caching

Browser caching can help to reduce server load by reducing the number of requests per page. For example, by setting the correct file headers on files that don't change (static files like images, CSS, JavaScript etc) browsers will then cache these files on the use's computer. This technique allows the browser to check to see if files have changed, instead of simply requesting them. The result is your web server can answer many more 304 responses, confirming that a file is unchanged, instead of 200 responses, which require the file to be sent.

Look into HTTP Cache-Control (specifically max-age) and Expires headers, as well as Entity Tags for more information.

Server Caching

Web server caching is more complex but is used in very high traffic sites. A wide range of options are available, beyond the scope of this article. The simplest solutions start with the server caching locally while more complex and involved systems may use multiple caching servers (also known as reverse proxy servers) "in front" of web servers where the WordPress application is actually running. Adding an opcode cache like Alternative PHP Cache (APC) to your server will improve PHP's performance by many times.

For more on this type of server setup check out High Scalability site among others.

Domain Name Tips

Like any brand name, logo, or trademark, your domain name represents part of your business identity. Customers will associate it with your particular product, service, company and so on, if you name it correctly. Remember that your domain name will probably be used for several purposes, including your web site, email address, and possibly an ftp or other server. It will be an integral part of your marketing campaign.
If your domain name can be easily remembered then you will attract more customers. People will use your web site or email address to get immediate and convenient access to the information or service that you are providing.
Domain names are portable. You can move physical address, change phone numbers, change Internet service providers, change the company that hosts your web site, and still keep the same domain name. This provides an extremely flexible method of keeping in touch with your customers and users.

Tips On Changing Hosts

Almost all businesses at some point feel the need to modify their hosts. But this is not a simple task like changing a shop to another. There are many complications associated with the evolution of their hosts. A simpler solution would be to hire a professional expert in development host. But many of us would do the job even though we know the best of our activities and sharing of data can sometimes be dangerous.
There are some points to remember when changing web hosting. Make sure the web host you choose is better than the current financial crisis, the performance of rational maintenance, etc. It would be wise not good if, after all the hard work we find that the previous host was better. It is also recommended that do not terminate the services of previous home before being completely sure that the host has changed. This provides a safety backup.
Once you have decided to move the hosts do not forget to update the DNS records. The new host has its own domain name, you can upgrade. In general, providers of web hosting services are the domain upgrade equipment to make things easier for you. I prefer to keep the same domain as the domain name change could lead to the loss of your visitors.
It would be a good idea to warn users in advance that you change your host for a while there might be some problems accessing the site. You can also provide new links to your previous page or have visitors redirected to the new site automatically. But a better solution would be to contact your old provider and get one. Ht access. That will solve all your problems.
Last but not least, please check all details (even minutes) before the cancellation of previous guest. It’s more than possible that you may forget or overlook details that are important.
Check the keyword when you move the hosts.

How can I prevent hacking?

Now-a-days we have received numerous support tickets from our customers regarding how they can prevent their site being hacked and increase their security. Here we added some special tips to prevent their site being hacked.

1. The most important thing to do is keep your passwords a secret. If you must give a password to someone, be sure to change it when they are done using the access. Don't write your passwords down or share them with too many people. Periodically change your passwords. You can find more by searching "How can I make a stronger password?"
2. Along the same idea, you need to make sure your personal computer does not have viruses, trojans, keyloggers, etc.
3. Keep your scripts and downloaded programs updated. Always upgrade to the latest version of your blog, forum, shopping cart, etc.
4. Do not have writable file permissions. The correct permissions are normally 755 or 644, and you can check these in your File Manager. Most users know to avoid 777 permissions, but you really want to avoid any permission settings which allow Group and World writing. (That's anything ending in 7, 6, 3, or 2. The first number can be one of these, but not either of the last two numbers.)

SQL injection, insertion - Security Tips

SQL injection is a code injection technique that exploits a security vulnerability occurring in the database layer of an application. The vulnerability is present when user input is either incorrectly filtered for string literal escape characters embedded in SQL statements or user input is not strongly typed and thereby unexpectedly executed. It is an instance of a more general class of vulnerabilities that can occur whenever one programming or scripting language is embedded inside another. SQL injection attacks are also known as SQL insertion attacks.

SQL injection is an attack where malicious code is passed to an SQL Server for execution. The attack can result in unauthorized access to confidential data, or destruction of critical data.

Screen Shot : Doing SQL Injection on simple login page
Before you try to read the methods below, realize that this should only be a concern for PHP developers and the like. If you are using a database driven program (e.g. WordPress, Joomla, OSCommerce), then all you need to do is upgrade your programs to the latest version available.

Methods to prevent SQL injection

One way to prevent injections is to escape dangerous characters (i.e. backslash, apostrophe and semicolon). In PHP, it is typical to escape the input using the function mysql_real_escape_string before sending the SQL query. Example:

$Uname = mysql_real_escape_string($Uname);
$Pword = mysql_real_escape_string($Pword);
$query = "SELECT * FROM Users where UserName='$Uname' and Password='$Pword'";
Parameterized statements
A parametrized query uses placeholders for the input, and the parameter values are supplied at execution time.

$params = array($Uname, $Pword);
$sql = 'INSERT INTO Users (UserName, Password) VALUES (?, ?)';
$query = sqlsrv_query($connection, $sql, $params);
Advanced: In PHP version 5 and above, there are multiple choices for using parameterized statements; the PDO database layer is one of them. There are also vendor-specific methods; for example, MySQL 4.1 + used with the mysqli extension.

Internal Linking - SEO Tips

An effective internal linking strategy is important for a few reasons: 1) It helps to increase page views and encourage readers to stay on your blog longer by providing enticing links to content that may interest them, and 2) it can help to improve the search engine rankings for your posts and pages.

In this article we’ll take a look at ten easy ways to improve the internal linking throughout your blog. Put these into action and you’ll be
well on your way to creating a more user-friendly blog and also helping your search engine rankings at the same time.

1. Use a sitemap

Sitemaps are not only important for helping visitors find what they’re looking for, but they’re also an easy way to increase the amount of internal links to your important pages. I’m not talking about XML sitemaps created for search engines (although they can be important too), but rather a sitemap for your readers with links to all of your posts, or at least your most important ones.WordPress users can use the Sitemap Generator Plugin from Dago Design to automatically create a sitemap for their blog. This plugin creates a helpful sitemap page with links to your posts arranged by category.

2. Create a FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions pages can help you to get internal links to your posts while using highly targeted keywords and phrases. Create some common questions readers might have that can be answered by your blog posts. Pose the question on the FAQ page and partially answer the question and provide a link to a particular post for more information. When phrasing the questions, use keywords that readers are likely to use when performing a search, as this can help to improve traffic from search engines. Also use keywords in the anchor text of the links to your posts.

3. Link to related posts

Linking to posts on similar topics can help your readers to find additional content that may interest them. Just as importantly, it can also improve the number of internal links to your blog posts. You can manually create related links at the end of your posts, or you can use a plugin to do it for you. WordPress users can download the Related Entries plugin.

4. Include links to your most popular posts on your sidebar

Many blogs contain links to specific posts in the sidebar. Linking to those that are the most popular is a good way to increase your page views and also to improve your internal link strength. This also can either be done manually or with the use of a plugin. Doing it manually will require updates and changes whenever you want to feature new posts, whereas a plugin like MostWanted will eliminate the manual effort.

5. Write a series of posts

One easy way of building up the number of internal links going from one post to another is to write a series. As the series is written and published each post can link to the others. If you have a very long post, consider breaking it into a series. Be careful not to do this all the time as your readers may start to feel like you are using them to gain page views.

6. Do a weekly or monthly summary

Many bloggers wrap up each month with a post that links to some of the most popular recent posts on the blog with a brief description of each. This obviously gives you a chance to add some internal links, and it can help readers who may have missed some posts as well as new subscribers who may not have had the opportunity to read some of your best work.

7. Place links on your 404 pages

Error pages are frustrating to visitors. Help make your 404 error pages more-user friendly and drive a little bit of extra traffic to some of most important posts.
